About the role#
The LPX Group Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience across construction field and office operations. You will work alongside experienced team members, complete meaningful assignments, and participate in mentorship, training, and professional development. The program includes community engagement and concludes with a formal Leadership Briefing.
What you'll do#
- Perform departmental, office, field, shop, plant, or project assignments based on your placement.
- Support work in estimating, construction engineering, project management, safety, marketing, finance, human resources, materials testing, or field and craft operations.
- Assist team members with project tasks, research, documentation, and reports.
- Participate in cohort orientation, safety training, professional development workshops, and in-house training.
- Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and jobsite procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, files, progress updates, and assigned work products.
- Participate in the LPX Community Build Day and other scheduled cohort activities.
- Work with an assigned mentor and supervisor, including participating in feedback and performance discussions.
- Prepare and deliver an end-of-term Leadership Briefing summarizing your assignments, key learnings, and career goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited four-year college or university, or status as a high school senior planning to enter a qualifying four-year program.
- Enrollment in an accredited AAS, diploma, certificate, or registered apprenticeship program.
- Availability for a full 10 to 12 week summer commitment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to work in office, field, shop, plant, or project-site conditions.
- A program of study related to engineering, construction management, business, finance, human resources, marketing, environmental science, technology, industrial maintenance, welding, or the skilled trades.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic, high degree of initiative, and the ability to organize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and learn from experienced team members.
- Commitment to safety, quality, professionalism, and company values.
- Prior construction, field, office, volunteer, or leadership experience is preferred.

- Location: Louisville, Kentucky.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 to 12 weeks).
