About the role#
The LEGO Creative Play Lab is hiring an Electrical Engineering Co-op for a six-month term in Boston for Winter 2027. This role supports the development of new play experiences by working alongside senior engineers on electronic subsystems and system integration.
What you'll do#
- Support senior engineers in the design and testing of printed circuit boards.
- Debug and measure the performance of electronic subsystems.
- Assist in root-cause investigations by debugging circuits, gathering sensor data, and performing bench tests.
- Collaborate with Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Firmware teams to design system integration test protocols.
- Identify tasks that align with project goals.
- Communicate technical findings, test procedures, and project milestones to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or related degree program.
- Prior co-op experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with soldering and lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, circuit board layouts, and design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad.
- Knowledge of analog and digital design building blocks like passive components, transistors, op amps, logic gates, and clocks.
- Basic understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART.
- Ability to apply electrical concepts to break down technical challenges for root cause analysis.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

- Work Modality: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office).
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $41.70 per hour.
