The Joy Lab at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Computational Neuroscience Intern for a summer position. The lab investigates mechanisms of neural repair following stroke, utilizing large-scale neural recordings, optogenetics, transcriptomics, and ethological behavior measurements. This role provides an opportunity to apply analytical models to complex datasets and contribute to scientific publications while working closely with lab members.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models for data analysis.
- Conduct data mining and curation tasks.
- Manage and store data within research repositories.
- Analyze datasets derived from neurophysiological recordings and animal behavior experiments.
- Collaborate with the research team to evaluate computational methods and explore biological questions.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree is required.
- A master's degree in neuroscience, machine learning, computational biology, statistics, data science, or a related field is desirable.
- Experience with statistical and machine learning models.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with lab members.
