About the role#
The Foods Management Intern supports the daily operation of food service locations within Dollywood Theme Park. This full-time, paid summer role offers practical experience in a theme park environment and provides the opportunity to earn course credit. You will work across different locations, shadow the 800 (PIC) program, and complete a special project for the Foods department.
What you'll do#
- Attend weekly intern meetings and Leadership Development classes.
- Act as a quality assurance inspector for food and ensure proper portion control.
- Manage staff scheduling and time keeping.
- Enforce the Start Fresh program and comply with all food safety regulations.
- Perform Period End P&L reviews and assist with cost analysis, including product mix and spending per person.
- Help implement improvements in guest excellence, profit contribution, and job satisfaction.
- Organize and develop an efficient, well-trained staff.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in a college or continuing education program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- You must hold a valid driver’s license, have proof of auto liability insurance, and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and a background check.
- You must maintain strict confidentiality and professional appearance.
- Ability to comprehend instructions, retain information, and operate a Point-of-Sale system.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for shifts up to 13 hours.
