About the role#
The Culinary Internship at Dollywood offers students practical experience within a theme park environment. This full-time, paid position allows you to apply academic theory to daily operations. You will support kitchen functions ranging from prep and line cooking to inventory management and administrative tasks. The program includes leadership development classes and weekly meetings to explore different areas of the business.
What you'll do#
- Participate in food preparation, merchandise handling, ware washing, and general cleanliness.
- Manage the loading dock, check in orders, and stock food and non-food inventories.
- Code invoices using standardized accounting processes.
- Serve as a quality assurance inspector for food items.
- Implement and create Plate Perfect recipes and enforce the Start Fresh program.
- Manage labor, cost analysis, product mix, and spending per person.
- Assist with menu creation to improve profit and cost savings.
- Execute a special project designed to benefit the Foods area.
- Attend leadership development classes and weekly intern meetings.
What you'll need#
- Minimum eighteen years of age and enrollment in a college or continuing education program.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver license, proof of auto liability insurance, and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles.
- Ability to operate a Point-of-Sale system and fire extinguisher.
- Must complete Start Fresh training and comply with all Health Department, ServSafe, and company food safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
- Successful completion of a background screening.
