About the role#
The Early Childhood Education program is looking for an intern to assist with daily operations. You will support staff in classrooms, on the playground, and during field trips. This is a full-time, paid position based in Grand Ronde, Oregon.
What you'll do#
- Support classroom staff with supervision and activities.
- Help the cook as needed.
- Keep classroom facilities clean and organized.
- Replenish materials and supplies for student activities.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing documents and data entry.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, parents, and community partners.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture.
- Required certifications include First Aid, CPR, and a food handler’s card.
- Required health documentation: TB and Hep B vaccinations, plus a physical every three years.
- Preference is given to Grand Ronde Tribal members studying Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Six months of experience in a preschool or childcare facility is preferred.

- Driving: You may need to drive for work, which requires a valid Oregon Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and meeting company vehicle insurance standards.
- Background: Candidates are subject to criminal and character background checks and may require fingerprinting.
- Physical Requirements: You must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand or sit for sustained periods, and perform repetitive hand movements.
