About the role#
The Technology Development Program (TECDP) Software Engineering track is a 12-week summer internship. You will work on technology projects, receive training, and gain mentorship to support your development as a technologist. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and deliver scalable applications and platforms that support healthcare outcomes.
- Participate in structured learning through core and track-specific curriculum, including technical and leadership development.
- Engage with peers, mentors, and partners through community-building activities, networking events, and collaborative initiatives.
- Support recruiting, innovation, community promotion, or onboarding experiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Foundational proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
- Exposure to software development concepts, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, APIs, databases, cloud, testing, or the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
- Relevant experience through coursework, projects, research, internships, hackathons, coding competitions, or open-source contributions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, solve problems, and work with technical and nontechnical partners.
- Interest in agile, collaborative development practices.
- Preferred: Exposure to generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
- Preferred: GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Location & details#
- Locations: St. Louis, MO; Bloomington, MN; Austin, TX; Morris Plains, NJ; or Bloomfield, CT.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. You must be onsite at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of your choice).
- Program Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, beginning May 24, 2027.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on skills, education, experience, and location.
- Sponsorship: This position is open only to individuals eligible for employment in the United States who do not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
