About the role#
This internship provides direct support to our team of safety professionals. You will work under the supervision of the Corporate Safety Director to learn how we manage risk across our various projects. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate safety activities with direct guidance from a staff professional.
- Perform workplace safety tasks with assistance.
- Help enforce the company Environment, Health, and Safety Policy.
- Visit and inspect various workplaces throughout Virginia and North Carolina under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Occupational Safety and Health or a similar field.
- Completion of at least sophomore level coursework.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and a self-starter mindset.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- This is an on-site position.
- The term runs for 10 to 12 weeks, starting in late May or early June 2027.
- Intern housing is available.
