About the role#
The Systems Integration and Test Office (SITO) within the System Realization Subdivision provides technical expertise in systems integration, technology insertion, and test campaign management. As an intern, you will support technical and programmatic activities for satellite, launch vehicle, and ground systems. You will work alongside staff and program office personnel to solve complex problems for customers including the U.S. Space Force, NASA, and NOAA.
What you'll do#
- Define and develop system interfaces, including mission, physical, functional, and hardware/software components.
- Assist with test planning, architecture, design, execution, and data evaluation.
- Support design studies for space constellations, architectures, and user equipment.
- Provide integration support across all phases of the acquisition life cycle.
- Develop and maintain design tools and models used in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Conduct systems analysis and trade studies.
- Capture system requirements traceability within architecture models and apply MBSE methodology using SysML.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment as a second-year Master’s student or PhD student in Computer Science, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Coursework or knowledge involving complex system design, development, or integration.
- Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Chantilly, Virginia.
- The pay range for this role is $32.00 to $48.00 per hour.
