About the role#
The Aerospace Corporation is hiring Software Engineering Grad Interns for the Software Implementation and Integration Department. You will join an interdisciplinary team working on research programs and technical projects. This is a full-time, paid internship. You will receive training and mentorship throughout your time with us.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement software for simulated space systems.
- Develop prototype software using Python, Java, and C to operate on simulated space and ground elements.
- Apply standard engineering procedures to complete scientific and technical tasks.
- Collaborate with internal teams and academic partners on ongoing research.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside of your university term.
- Advanced programming experience in Python, C, C++, or Java.
- Experience with cloud computing services like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, plus the ability to work well in a team.
- Organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Ability to return to your degree program full-time after the internship ends.
- Submission of transcripts is required.
- Preferred: GPA of 3.5 or higher, an active TS/SCI clearance, and experience with agile software development.
Location & details#
- This position is 100% on-site at our offices in El Segundo, California or Chantilly, Virginia.
- The pay range is $32.00 to $35.00 per hour.
