As a graduate intern, you will join an interdisciplinary team to assist with research and technical programs centered on microelectronic and optoelectronic devices for space applications. You will work on-site to support the development and operation of national security systems through scientific research.
What you'll do#
- Assist with radiation testing and characterization of microelectronic devices.
- Perform simulations of related circuitry operations.
- Assemble experimental electrical test setups.
- Apply and update standard techniques to carry out prescribed scientific or engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on ongoing research programs.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- An undergraduate degree completed by the start of the internship.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside of the university term and the ability to return to your degree program afterward.
- Coursework related to semiconductor physics.
- Proficiency with programming or simulation tools such as C++, JavaScript, MATLAB, Xilinx ISE, Assembly, AutoCAD, or Python.
