About the role#
The Propulsion Department develops and evaluates propulsion technologies for government and commercial applications. We are looking for a Propulsion Engineering Graduate Intern to assist with analysis, research, and experimentation of systems including liquid rocket engines, solid rocket motors, and spacecraft propulsion. You will work within our Vehicle Systems Division to provide technical advice and support for high-priority missions.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to launch vehicle and spacecraft program customers.
- Participate in the analysis and modeling of propulsion system performance, applications, and technologies.
- Develop tools to assess the performance of propulsion systems in ground test and flight.
- Support propulsion laboratory research efforts, including the set-up and execution of experiments.
- Present your findings to team members, customers, and leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- A Bachelor's degree completed by the start of the internship.
- Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks.
- Ability to return to a Master's or Ph.D. program full-time after the internship concludes.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency with standard engineering tools and programming environments, specifically MATLAB and Python.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government.
- Submission of transcripts.

- This role is based on-site in El Segundo, California.
- The position is full-time and paid with an hourly rate between $32.00 and $38.00.
