About the role#
The Aerospace Corporation is looking for a graduate intern to join the Communication and Ground Architectures Performance Department. You will support modeling, simulation, and analysis solutions that shape the design and acquisition of critical space communication and ground systems. This role involves working alongside technical staff to inform decisions for the U.S. Air Force, the Space Force, and the Intelligence Community.
What you'll do#
- Work with technical staff to provide analysis that drives research, development, and acquisition decisions for communication and ground architectures.
- Collaborate directly with personnel across local and corporate locations.
- Perform end-to-end performance evaluations and analysis-of-alternatives using internal tools.
- Support the development and sustainment of organizational modeling and simulation capabilities.
- Create and present accurate reports and presentations to communicate analysis results.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an MS or PhD program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks outside of the academic term.
- Ability to return to a full-time degree program after the internship.
- Coursework or knowledge in modeling, simulation, or analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Submission of academic transcripts.
- Experience working on a technical team, in space-related modeling, or in communication and data network modeling is preferred.
- Current TS or SCI security clearance is a plus.

- Locations: El Segundo, California, or Chantilly, Virginia.
