About the role#
The Accounting Intern works with the Finance team to support daily accounting activities. You will gain practical experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory management, and monthly closing processes. This position is part-time from January to May 2027 and transitions to full-time afterward.
What you'll do#
- Support revenue recognition through financial data preparation, analysis, and validation.
- Analyze accounts receivable to identify overdue payments and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor deposits related to purchase orders.
- Resolve discrepancies and inquiries regarding customer and supplier invoices.
- Analyze accounts payable, including invoices pending reconciliation, blocked invoices, and discrepancies between purchase orders and goods receipts.
- Participate in monthly closing activities, such as preparing journal entries.
- Prepare and analyze reports on inventory levels and stock movements.
- Assist with inventory validation, including physical counts and consignment inventory.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and track outstanding items.
- Monitor internal controls for financial compliance in a SOX environment.
- Contribute to special projects aimed at improving accounting and financial processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field.
- Functional knowledge of both French and English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated rigor, organization, autonomy, and attention to detail.
