About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Cartersville, Georgia. You will work on-site alongside experienced professionals to complete real project tasks. The internship lasts for 10 weeks and includes mentorship and training opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical systems, including electrical harnesses, circuit boards, and microprocessor programming.
- Create and review functional specifications, engineering design standards, and test plans for product validation.
- Perform tolerance studies and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on components and assemblies.
- Develop and release engineering drawings and vehicle bills of material while incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Resolve and document design issues identified during testing.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews, including Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments.
- Complete assigned tasks within defined project timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Knowledge of Matlab and programming languages such as Visual Basic.
