About the role#
This is a temporary, per diem position for a Radiology Tech Student Extern. You will support technologists and healthcare staff by preparing equipment, organizing work assignments, and assisting with patient care. This role serves as a communication link between nursing and various hospital departments.
What you'll do#
- Clean and set up imaging and exam rooms.
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures.
- Assist with transferring patients to and from beds and wheelchairs.
- Position patients on equipment for exams.
- Transport patients to and from facility departments, confirming special needs like oxygen or IV pumps with nursing staff.
- Maintain the supply room and stock new deliveries.
- Keep wheelchairs available and clean them after each use.
- Check equipment weekly to ensure it works properly, submitting work orders for repairs when necessary.
- Ensure patient comfort and follow all regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Radiology Program.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
