About the role#
The Nurse Extern II position is a department specific externship for nursing students in their graduating year. This role offers focused, hands-on experience within the Emergency Room. You will work within one specialty area to support advanced skill development before you graduate.
What you'll do#
You will provide patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your work includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation. You are responsible for communicating significant observations to the RN while working within established guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN nursing program and in good standing.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Completion of the first round of clinical rotations.
- Standing within the final one to two academic terms of your program.
- AHA BLS certification.
