About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Saline Memorial Hospital, you will gain hands-on clinical experience while working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will rotate throughout the facility to build your skills in patient care and critical thinking. This role is designed to support your development as you transition toward your nursing career.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the supervising RN.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including nutrition, hygiene, and ambulation.
- Document care provided and support the performance improvement philosophy of the hospital.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, their families, and the broader healthcare team.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers and discharges.
- Evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education based on their specific circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of every patient.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school.
- Completion of all hands-on check-offs.
- One year or less remaining in your nursing program.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

- Location: Benton, Arkansas.
- Employment Type: Part-time, PRN.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, including 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
