Communications Systems Analyst Intern

About the role#

The TGS Service Delivery Office is seeking a Communications Systems Analyst Intern to conduct performance analyses for U.S. Government customers utilizing Telesat Lightspeed™ services. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Arlington, Virginia.

What you'll do#

• Build and maintain engineering and technical models of the Telesat Lightspeed™ network.
• Conduct visibility and link budget analyses of radio frequency (RF) and optical communication links for land, sea, air, and space-based use cases.
• Support the TGS Customer Solutions Engineer in planning and executing on-orbit demonstrations with Telesat LEO-3 and Telesat Lightspeed™.
• Complete STK Level 1 and Level 2 certification.
• Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including concept of operations, system requirements, and architecture definitions.

What you'll need#

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Communications, or Computer Science.
• Understanding of fundamental communication system concepts such as link budgets, antenna patterns, and optical communications.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Preference for candidates with an emphasis in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, telecommunications, or networking.
