About the role#
This engineering internship at TECO Energy provides students with practical experience in the utility industry. You will work alongside Energy Supply engineers on technical projects that vary in scope and complexity. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Review and analyze codes, standards, and regulations.
- Examine engineering documents, such as reports, design drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct walkdowns and field engineering tasks.
- Observe construction activities to ensure they meet design requirements.
- Spend approximately half of your time working in power stations and service areas.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Current standing as a Junior, Senior, or graduate student.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Preference for students enrolled in a university co-op program.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including working at heights on raised walkways.
Location & details#
- Locations include Apollo Beach, Tampa, and Mulberry, Florida.
- This is an on-site role requiring 40 hours per week.
- You must be comfortable working in industrial settings that may be dirty.
