About the role#
This internship is a paid, full-time, 40-hour per week training program designed to prepare you for a career in store leadership. You will work alongside an Executive Team Lead mentor to gain a realistic preview of the Assistant Store Manager role. Throughout the summer, you will develop an understanding of retail business operations by spending time on the salesfloor, leading team members, and working toward store priorities.
What you'll do#
- Lead daily business priorities on the salesfloor and in the backroom.
- Partner with your mentor and other leaders to learn how to effectively manage a department.
- Drive guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to assist shoppers.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks to support business needs.
- Address team member concerns and provide coaching to ensure smooth operations.
- Present at daily huddles and review business reporting to identify areas for improvement.
- Engage with guests in a welcoming manner and resolve their needs.
- Participate in training activities and seek feedback to support your professional development.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to climb ladders, scan merchandise, and lift or move items up to 44 pounds.
- Proficiency in learning and adapting to new technology.

- This internship takes place in Summer 2027.
- The role is on-site at various locations across Alabama, including Huntsville, Madison, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Fultondale, Florence, Decatur, Homewood, Bessemer, and Alabaster.
