About the role#
This internship is a paid, 40-hour per week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. As a Store Executive Intern, you will receive a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work closely with managers and team members to understand retail business operations and management responsibilities.
What you'll do#
- Spend time on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain an understanding of their role.
- Lead through daily priorities, such as stocking shelves, building displays, and ensuring a safe environment.
- Partner with leaders regarding team member performance by providing coaching and feedback.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and helpful.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks to support business priorities.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in training activities and developmental opportunities.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations include Sterling Heights, Chesterfield, Livonia, Walled Lake, and Troy, Michigan.
- This position is paid with a range of $26.00 - $28.00 per hour.
