About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, hands-on internship program designed to prepare you for a career in retail store leadership. Over the summer of 2027, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working closely with mentors and store management. You will develop an understanding of retail business fundamentals, guest service strategies, and team management while gaining experience in various areas of the store.
What you'll do#
- Spend time on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members and aligning them on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain insight into their daily responsibilities.
- Lead through daily operational tasks such as stocking shelves, building displays, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests.
- Partner with leadership to provide performance feedback, coaching, and training to team members.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by engaging with customers, solving problems, and ensuring team members are empowered to assist them.
- Plan daily goals, organize department workloads, and present at daily huddles with your leadership team.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to troubleshoot and improve performance in your assigned areas.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management and a team-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and operate handheld scanners.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, scan and move merchandise, and frequently lift or move items up to 44 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Resources is relevant to this role.

- This is an on-site internship based in Michigan with locations in Sterling Heights, Chesterfield, Livonia, Walled Lake, and Troy.
- The program runs for the Summer 2027 term.
