About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship program designed to prepare you for a career in operations leadership. You will work on-site at a Target supply chain facility, gaining a realistic preview of the daily responsibilities of an Operations Manager. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside mentors and other managers to develop your leadership skills, support daily operations, and learn how to motivate and influence a team.
What you'll do#
- Lead among team members to align on daily business priorities.
- Maintain high standards for quality and inventory accuracy.
- Track key performance indicators to identify operational gaps and drive improvements.
- Administer communication between IT and operations teams to resolve system issues.
- Conduct safety walks to identify, resolve, and report findings.
- Lead daily team meetings and participate in planning sessions with leadership.
- Provide performance feedback and coach team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Participation in school or extracurricular activities.
- Strong interest in retail, specifically within supply chain facilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with an enthusiasm for learning.
