About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, hands-on internship program designed to prepare you for a career in operations leadership. During this summer program, you will gain a realistic preview of the Operations Manager role by working directly within a Target Supply Chain facility. You will work alongside mentors and managers to lead daily operations, motivate team members, and develop a deep understanding of retail supply chain business fundamentals.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support daily operations by working directly on the facility floor.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including safety, productivity, and quality.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Facilitate communication between IT and operations teams to address system issues.
- Recruit, mentor, and coach team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead daily planning meetings and organize shift goals to meet business targets.
- Identify operational hurdles and implement solutions to ensure smooth workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Human Resources, or Psychology.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular activities.
- A strong interest in retail and supply chain operations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to learning.

- Location: Cedar Falls, Iowa.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
