About the role#
This is a full-time, paid 40-hour per week summer internship based in a Target supply chain facility. You will gain hands-on experience in operations leadership, working alongside managers and team members to understand how the business functions. The program provides a realistic preview of the Operations Manager role, focusing on team leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement within a distribution center environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support daily operations execution by working directly on the facility floor.
- Plan daily goals and organize shift plans to meet productivity targets.
- Conduct safety walks, audits, and real-time observations to ensure standard adherence.
- Track KPIs related to safety, quality, and productivity to identify gaps and drive performance.
- Mentor team members, provide performance feedback, and lead daily team meetings.
- Collaborate with leadership to troubleshoot operational hurdles and implement process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong interest in retail and supply chain operations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and team-oriented thinking.
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour facility.
