About the role#
This student worker position supports the EOPS/CARE/NextUp and CalWORKs programs at Taft College. You will help grow our social media presence and assist with outreach efforts to connect with current and prospective students.
What you'll do#
- Develop video concepts and film assets using a mobile device.
- Edit video content for platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Engage with the social media community to represent the college brand.
- Contribute to the strategy, vision, and voice of our social media channels.
- Create flyers and support recruitment and outreach events.
- Establish best practices for social media engagement and perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least 6 units at Taft College.
- Status as an EOPS/CARE/NextUp or CalWORKs student.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Ability to remain in good standing and enrolled in courses throughout the assignment.
- Strong time management and scheduling skills.
- Experience as a native social media user.
- Preferred: Six months of experience creating video content.
- Preferred: Understanding of the social media ecosystem, including trends, hashtags, and platform guidelines.
- Preferred: Ability to write, edit, and proofread copy content.
