About the role#
Taft College is hiring a student worker for the custodial team. This position supports the maintenance and cleanliness of campus facilities. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Sweep, scrub, mop, strip, wax, and burnish floors.
- Vacuum rugs and carpets in offices, classrooms, and workshops.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, sinks, and drinking fountains.
- Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
- Dust and polish furniture, wash windows, and clean dry boards.
- Pick up trash, empty garbage cans, and replace liners.
- Sweep walkways and entrances.
- Operate cleaning equipment including buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners.
- Secure assigned areas by locking doors, gates, and managing alarm systems.
- Set up furniture and equipment for classes and campus events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least 6 units at Taft College.
- Ability to remain in good standing and enrolled in courses throughout the assignment.
