About the role#
The Student Ambassador serves as a representative for Taft College, assisting with recruitment, retention, and student services. This role supports outreach efforts, helps students navigate college processes, and provides clerical support to the department.
What you'll do#
- Support the outreach supervisor with the planning, coordination, and execution of events.
- Help coordinate student success and goal completion activities.
- Assist with on-campus visitation programs for prospective students.
- Act as a liaison to K-12, high school, and community partners.
- Conduct recruitment presentations for the community and students.
- Serve as a mentor and student life liaison, including making student wellness calls.
- Assist with social media content for recruitment and retention.
- Guide prospective and current students through enrollment, financial aid, work-study, and course registration.
- Provide referrals to other services and support the matriculation of special populations.
- Perform clerical tasks, such as entering data, using computers, and answering phones.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a minimum of 6 units at Taft College.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0 and must remain in good standing throughout employment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, database software, and Zoom.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and effective listening abilities.
- Ability to perform detailed work on multiple tasks at once.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
