About the role#
Student Ambassadors act as peer leaders to promote student engagement, mental health awareness, and campus wellness. You will help build an inclusive community by supporting outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts across the Taft College campus.
What you'll do#
- Support the outreach supervisor in planning and running recruitment and retention events.
- Serve as a liaison to K-12 schools, high schools, and community partners.
- Conduct recruitment presentations and assist with on-campus visitation programs.
- Help students navigate enrollment, financial aid, and course registration.
- Make student wellness calls and promote mental health resources.
- Assist with social media content for recruitment purposes.
- Provide clerical support, including data entry and answering phones.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for your peers.
- Participate in tabling events and student engagement activities.
- Gather feedback on student needs and maintain records of your outreach work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least 6 units at Taft College with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Good standing with the college, which you must maintain throughout your employment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, database software, and Zoom.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to handle detailed work across multiple concurrent tasks.
- A valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.
