About the role#
SWD Inc. is hiring a CAD Intern for the Spring 2027 semester. This is a paid, on-site position based in Addison, Illinois. We offer flexible scheduling between 16 and 24 hours per week to accommodate your class schedule. You must be able to commute to our facility for the duration of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D models and drawings using CAD software.
- Adjust existing drawings based on design changes and specific requirements.
- Enter and organize project data, files, and drawings.
- Gain practical experience with drafting techniques and project workflows.
- Identify issues in models or drawings and communicate findings to supervisors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors degree program for Computer Science, Engineering, CAD design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Revit.
- Ability to interpret technical plans, diagrams, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues within technical drawings.

- Location: Addison, Illinois.
- Term: Spring 2027 (January through May).
- Work Modality: 100% on-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Candidates must be able to commute to Addison. All offers are contingent on a background check, drug screen, and physical.
