About the role#
As an Agricultural Operations Intern at Summit Agricultural Group, you will gain exposure to the daily management of large-scale farming and cattle operations. This role is based at our headquarters in Alden, Iowa, and offers a broad look at our production processes.
What you'll do#
- Work with the cattle animal health team in our feedlot and confinement barns to learn about animal care and feed rations.
- Support the row crop team with tillage, planting, spraying, side dressing, and irrigation tasks.
- Learn about grain storage and drying operations.
- Operate, repair, and maintain various agricultural equipment.
- Collaborate with the cattle, row crop, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Deliver a final presentation to the management team at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Agriculture.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as a motivated self-starter.
