About the role#
As a Clear Outcomes and Data Science Intern, you will support the Clear Outcomes team in making education-to-employment data more useful for students, institutions, and policymakers. You will gain experience applying data science to labor markets and workforce development while learning how data systems influence real-world decisions. This is a full-time, paid summer internship program.
What you'll do#
- Explore and analyze education-to-employment data to identify useful patterns and insights.
- Create or improve dashboards and data visualizations using tools like Looker or Tableau.
- Support projects that assess how states collect and publish information across education and workforce systems.
- Communicate findings to help partners inform policy, programs, and investments.
What you'll need#
- You are at least one year out of high school and currently enrolled in or accepted into a postsecondary education or training program.
- Experience using Python to explore, clean, or analyze data.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Looker or Tableau.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, with familiarity in Zoom and Slack.
- Ability to work independently while remaining open to feedback.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with your internship cohort.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Washington, DC.
- The work modality is hybrid, with in-office requirements on Tuesdays and other department-specific days.
- The program runs from May 18, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Interns are expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
