About the role#
This internship focuses on the creation, revision, and maintenance of manufacturing processes. You will work within the production shop to monitor capacity and capability while identifying opportunities for improvement. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Dickinson, North Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain manufacturing process definitions using SAPs, SOPs, and BOPs.
- Lead productivity improvement projects and implement training activities.
- Participate in LEAN events, including Kaizens, value stream mapping, 5S, and VAVE.
- Complete time and motion analysis studies.
- Manage NCRs, ECRs, and ECNs.
- Draft plant layouts for equipment, flow, and storage.
- Work directly on the production floor to learn processes and recommend changes.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years of engineering coursework in Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Visual acuity to inspect completed work.
- Capability to perform tasks involving stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
- Ability to maintain focus and complete tasks independently in a production environment.
