About the role#
Stanley Consultants is seeking a student intern to join the Traffic Engineering Department in DeBary, Florida. You will work on various state and municipal projects while developing an understanding of traffic engineering principles. This includes traffic studies and design for signing, pavement marking, traffic signals, roadway lighting, and construction sequencing.
What you'll do#
- Review engineering studies, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform and verify engineering and quantity calculations.
- Use AutoCAD or OpenRoads for design tasks.
- Prepare traffic engineering studies using Synchro, Vistro, and Microsoft Office.
- Conduct field visits to project sites.
- Back check drawings and gain familiarity with specialized traffic engineering software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited civil engineering program as at least a college junior.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- A clear interest in building a career in traffic engineering.
- Previous traffic engineering experience or relevant coursework is preferred.

- This role is based on-site in DeBary, Florida.
- Local candidates are strongly preferred for this part-time position.
- This is a paid internship.
