About the role#
St. Timothy Parish is looking for a Youth Ministry Intern to support our programs. This is a paid, full-time position based in Mesa, Arizona. The role involves working with middle and high school youth, parents, and parish staff to foster a community of faith. You will work a minimum of 8 hours per week during typical office hours, with additional requirements for nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of Edge Nights, taking ownership of specific segments like the Gather, Proclaim, or Send.
- Support the Coordinator of Edge with preparation, setup, and cleanup.
- Manage ministry supplies and help execute environment and communication components.
- Encourage Core Team members and build relationships with parents and parishioners.
- Cultivate a personal prayer life to support ministry discernment.
- Promote ministry events to invite new youth to participate.
- Attend staff meetings and work cooperatively with parish and school staff.
- Adhere to all Diocesan Safe Environment training, policies, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- You are a practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Experience in youth ministry, either as a participant or a leader.
- Proficiency with tools like Canva, Flocknote, and AV equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage frequent interruptions.
- Capacity to multitask and exercise sound judgment regarding program needs.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Dedication to the community of St. Timothy and the Catholic Church.
