New Jersey Institute of Technology Co-op: Electrical Engineering/Electro-Optics

About the role#

This co-op position at SRI International focuses on the electro-optic performance testing of cameras and sensors. You will work within the Center for Advanced Imaging, which develops imaging products ranging from commercial spectroscopy to space-qualified focal planes for remote sensing applications.

What you'll do#

• Configure and operate laboratory equipment to measure the electro-optic performance of sensors and cameras.
• Write simple Labview control programs to support testing.
• Document test procedures and compile data for review.
• Gain experience with CCD and CMOS imaging sensors.
• Familiarize yourself with electro-optic test equipment and imager characterization tests.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, available for the Fall 2026 co-op cycle.
• Pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with common test equipment, including oscilloscopes and function generators.
• US citizenship is required due to government requirements.
• Proficiency with PC skills; knowledge of Labview, MATLAB, and electro-optic principles is preferred.
