About the role#
Spire is looking for an Internal Audit intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This paid internship offers students the chance to gain practical experience in the natural gas industry while working on real projects. You will rotate through different accounting and finance assignments, including financial, operational, and IT audits, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
What you'll do#
- Rotate between various accounting and finance assignments.
- Assist with internal audits and special projects under the direction of the Audit Manager.
- Document audit work while following departmental and professional standards.
- Research outstanding issues and assist with generating standard and non-standard reports.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with team members and clients.
- Travel to various business locations as needed.
- Participate in All Inclusive Onboarding and the Project Poster Symposium.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status as a rising junior or senior, or graduate level student.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work 35-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

- This role is based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
