About the role#
The Music Department at Southwestern OK State Univ seeks a Graduate Assistant for the Spring 2027 semester. This role provides instructional, administrative, and operational support across areas such as band, choral, orchestral, music education, jazz studies, and music therapy. You will work directly with faculty and staff to assist with departmental goals, serving as a professional representative of the university.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of classes, rehearsals, labs, and ensemble activities.
- Support undergraduate instruction through tutoring, grading, mentoring, and academic support.
- Help plan and execute departmental performances, concerts, festivals, clinics, and recruiting events.
- Maintain and manage the inventory of music equipment, instruments, library materials, and classroom resources.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Chair of the Music Department.
What you'll need#
- A completed Bachelor degree.
- Admission to the Music Graduate Study program at SWOSU.
- Enrollment in a relevant field of study.
Location & details#
- Location: Weatherford, Oklahoma.
- Term: Spring 2027, beginning January 11, 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time assistantship requiring an average of 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: A stipend of $3,300 per semester plus a tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate credit hours per academic year.
