About the role#
The Digital Product Internship at Southwest Airlines is a 12-week program running from May 18 to August 8, 2027. You will rotate across different digital product teams to learn how products are imagined, designed, and delivered. You will work alongside Product Owners and Managers to gain exposure to the full customer journey, from booking and loyalty to inflight experiences. The internship concludes with a capstone presentation where you will share a product recommendation and success metrics with department leaders.
What you'll do#
- Support the Frontline Employee Advisory Board by gathering feedback and developing meeting content.
- Assist with strategic initiatives, including gathering requirements and defining acceptance criteria.
- Research new technology solutions and develop business cases.
- Identify customer friction points and opportunities across product areas.
- Diagnose issues and provide recommendations to project teams.
- Facilitate communication between frontline representatives and senior leadership.
- Collaborate on communication plans and develop presentations for stakeholders.
- Proactively anticipate and resolve project issues.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Progress toward a degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Communications, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical reasoning and time management skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate professionally with diverse groups.
- Preference for students with at least 3 semesters remaining after the internship ends.
- Experience with 5S or Lean Six Sigma, aviation interest, and leadership roles are a plus.

- Location: Dallas, Texas (Corporate Campus).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21-$24 per hour, based on degree progress.
