About the role#
Southern Champion Tray is looking for an accounting intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position supports the Accounts Payable team with invoice processing and payment verification. You will also gain exposure to general ledger accounting and assist with month-end close activities. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
What you'll do#
- Process vendor invoices while ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
- Support vendor account reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues.
- Maintain AP records and ensure documentation is complete.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations.
- Analyze variances in expense accounts and prepare supporting schedules.
- Organize and retrieve financial records for audit support.
- Work on special research or data analysis projects based on your skills and interests.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
