Research Intern on Generative and Protective AI for Content Creation

About the role#

Sony AI is seeking research interns to develop machine learning technologies for use in movie, game, and music creation, as well as methods for the ethical operation of generative AI. You will work to create technologies intended for both scientific publication and potential application across Sony entertainment studios worldwide. You will be supported by a team of internal scientists and engineers throughout your internship.

What you'll do#

• Investigate and apply novel algorithms for the generation and editing of video, sound, and 3D visual geometry, including 3D human motion.
• Analyze and mitigate ethical flaws in generative models, focusing on memorization detection, concept erasure, and data attribution.
• Implement innovative research ideas using strong coding and problem-solving skills.
• Aim to publish research findings in a top-tier conference.

What you'll need#

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field; current enrollment in a relevant Ph.D. program is preferred.
• Proven expertise in generative AI applications, including deep generative modeling, computer vision, and audio signal processing.
• Strong programming skills in deep learning using frameworks such as PyTorch and visualization tools like TensorBoard.
• Experience in research communities, evidenced by published papers at conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, or ICML.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• This is a full-time, paid internship with an hourly rate of $45.00.
• The position is remote.
• This role operates on a rolling basis.
