About the role#
Simmons Foods is hiring an intern for Plant Operations for the Summer 2027 term. This on-site role provides an opportunity to work on real-world projects that impact the organization. You will gain a well-rounded experience by balancing a primary project with daily operational tasks.
What you'll do#
- Work on projects that allow you to apply skills from your major of study.
- Present your project work to the team and senior leaders at the end of the summer.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement to refine processes and reduce waste.
- Participate in the development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Learn established company operating systems and share your ideas for improvements.
- Meet quality performance standards that align with company and regulatory guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree program in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours and work in various temperatures.
