About the role#
This internship at Simmons Foods offers the chance to work on projects that impact the organization. You will gain experience through a mix of daily tasks and a specific solution-seeking project. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to the team and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Complete a solution-seeking project that aligns with your major and present your work to senior leaders.
- Handle general day-to-day tasks to learn the fundamentals of the lab process.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement to refine processes and reduce waste.
- Participate in team meetings, policy implementation, and communication programs.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds company, department, and USDA/FDA guidelines.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Biomedical Sciences, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience using computer programs.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours.
- Capacity to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
