About the role#
As an IT Intern at Silvi Materials, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our internal IT operations. You will report to the IT Director during this 10 to 12 week program. This role is based in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Record and manage internal incidents using our service desk tool.
- Categorize and prioritize support requests based on their impact and severity.
- Perform initial troubleshooting to identify the root cause of technical issues.
- Escalate complex problems to the appropriate teams for further investigation.
- Keep incident tickets updated with accurate documentation of all actions taken.
- Assist with daily IT tasks including hardware maintenance, software installations, and user account management.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and process improvement.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Prior experience in an IT help desk or similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with incident management systems or service desk tools.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 products like SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- A proactive approach to helping customers and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, as well as the ability to stand for long periods, kneel, or crouch when performing hardware maintenance.
