About the role#
We are looking for an intern to join our Water Sector for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support water and wastewater projects. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Milwaukee.
What you'll do#
- Create conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering drawings, including Plan and Profiles, using AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Perform calculations for the design of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and watermains.
- Assist the project team with feasibility studies and functional plans.
- Help secure necessary permits and approvals for construction.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers regarding shop drawings and industry standards.
- Support contract administration and perform construction inspection duties on project sites.
- Assist with business development tasks, including the preparation of proposals and time task matrices.
- Manage multiple projects across different phases simultaneously.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality results.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and apply new software.
- Capability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to high levels of integrity and ethical work practices.
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or MicroStation is an asset.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and Environmental Assessment is an asset.
