About the role#
We are looking for an Intern to join our Water Sector for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support a variety of water and wastewater projects. This is a full-time, paid position based in Philadelphia.
What you'll do#
- Create conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering drawings, including Plan and Profiles using AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, specifications, and calculations.
- Perform analysis for the design of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and watermains.
- Assist the project team with feasibility studies, functional plans, and project delivery.
- Manage permit applications and approvals required for construction.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers regarding shop drawings and industry standards.
- Support business development tasks, such as preparing proposals and time task matrices.
- Assist with construction inspection duties and contract administration on project sites.
- Balance work across multiple projects at different stages of completion.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality results.
- Willingness to learn new software and apply it to your work.
- Ability to manage your time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- High levels of integrity and a commitment to ethical, sustainable practices.
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive team environment.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or MicroStation is an asset.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS and the Environmental Assessment process is an asset.
