About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for an Engineering Designer focused on Roads and Highways. You will work on-site in San Jose under the supervision of senior engineers to support infrastructure projects. This position follows a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Learn engineering plans and project details.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist with project scheduling and monitoring.
- Create computer models and prepare progress reports.
- Assist with engineering drawings, cost estimates, and calculations.
- Apply relevant codes and standards to your work.
- Collaborate with drafters, support staff, and other engineers.
- Attend site visits and inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current 3rd year standing in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and engineering software.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
- A commitment to integrity, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective collaboration skills.
