About the role#
Shaw Industries offers engineering students the chance to gain professional experience through our internship and co-op program. You will work onsite at our manufacturing facilities, where you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects. This program is designed to help you build technical skills and prepare for a career in engineering.
What you'll do#
- Complete a series of semesters, either rotating between school and work or working sequentially.
- Work onsite at one of our manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborate with our engineering staff to solve facility-based problems.
- Take on increasingly complex project work as you gain experience.
- Develop your professional skills and network within the industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Operations Management engineering.
- Completion of at least 3 semesters of college coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Full-time student status is preferred.
- Co-op students must be registered with their university's official co-op program or career services office.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
- Work is performed on-site.
- Locations include Dalton, GA; Andalusia, AL; Aiken, SC; Columbia, SC; Bainbridge, GA; Thomson, GA; Cartersville, GA; Ringgold, GA; Adairsville, GA; and Calhoun, GA.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though these may vary by facility.
- Corporate housing is available at a discount in most locations.
