About the role#
Shaw Industries offers an engineering internship and co-op program for students to gain manufacturing experience. You will work onsite at one of our facilities, rotating through projects to build technical skills. This program prepares you for a potential full-time engineering career with us after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Complete a series of semesters working onsite in a manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with engineering staff on active facility projects.
- Apply your academic knowledge and problem-solving skills to real-world technical issues.
- Participate in hands-on projects and receive mentorship from experienced staff.
- Take on increasingly advanced tasks as you progress through your semesters.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Operations Management engineering.
- Completion of at least 3 semesters of college coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Full-time student status is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
- Locations include Dalton, Bainbridge, Cartersville, Ringgold, Adairsville, and Calhoun, Georgia; Andalusia, Alabama; and Aiken and Columbia, South Carolina.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though these may vary by facility.
- Corporate housing is available at a discount in most locations.
