About the role#
The Supply Chain Intern supports day-to-day operations at Select Custom Solutions in La Crosse, Wisconsin. During this 12-week summer program, you will gain practical experience in procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning. You will work alongside the supply chain team and cross-functional partners to assist with data analysis, process improvement, and special projects that drive operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze data to support supply chain operations including demand forecasting and logistics optimization.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Assist with supplier communications, order placement, and purchase order tracking.
- Coordinate shipments, track deliveries, and resolve transportation issues with the logistics team.
- Prepare and maintain reports on supply chain performance metrics.
- Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with departments such as production, quality assurance, and sales.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and all safety protocols, including reporting hazards and stopping unsafe acts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with business reporting tools.
- Understanding of ERP functional areas, specifically accounting, supply chain, and manufacturing.
- Ability to manage medium-size projects from start to finish.
- Strong problem-solving skills and quantitative critical thinking.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to extract and act on information with limited supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A basic understanding of supply chain concepts and principles.
